The joint choirs of St John’s Maindee and St Cadoc’s Caerleon led the singing in our Choral Evensong service last Sunday with Father Will preaching. Thank you to Julius Nglass and John Granger for their leadership. Here are few words from John which he sent to the choirs.
“Hi everyone
I’m sure you expected an email and, yes, I am still on a high!! What a wonderful service we held at St Cadoc’s. A choir of 36, 23 from St John’s, made a super sound and with Julius’s excellent and exciting accompaniments on the organ, I am sure that I wasn’t the only one who had a few shivers and a feeling of exhilaration as we led the worship in the beautiful church that is St Cadoc’s. The whole service was a lovely act of worship led by Rev’d Sue Pratten and a good sermon from Fr Will. Well done to all concerned. I am sure that you enjoyed the service as much as I did.
It was good to hear that we will repeat Choral Evensong and hold the service in different churches in the Ministry Area during the coming year. The next combined choirs service will be at St John’s and we are looking tentatively at the end of October / early November. Everyone in the choir I spoke to was excited about holding the next one!!”
