This Thursday, 19th July, between 11.30am and 3.00pm we welcome a visiting band of ringers from London to attempt to ring a peal of a method called Stedman on all eight bells.
The band are members of the Ancient Society of College Youths. The conductor is Paul Mounsey who is Master of the St Paul’s Cathedral Guild. All but one of the ringers are members of the band at St Paul’s Cathedral or Westminster Abbey, some both.
It will be the last peal of their tour before hitting the M4 and the long drive home to London. All the ringers are retired from work but most definitely not retired from ringing.
