The choir about to go in to St Tegfedd’s to sing evensong with the Bishop on 4th February. Wonderful 16th and 17th century settings of the Preces & Responses and Canticles, preceded by Tallis’ O Nata Lux and ending with Purcell’s 8-part motet Hear My Prayer O Lord – perhaps one of the finest anthems ever written in English. We all enjoyed it so much, we now plan a service of Compline in the summer – watch this space!
