On Friday 8th September 2017 a happy band of pilgrims, including four members of the congregation of St Cadoc’s, set out on a visit to our Link Diocese of the Highveld in South Africa. During our nine days in the diocese we visited many of the projects run by HABSR (Highveld Anglican Board of Social Responsibility), including a Soup Kitchen, Feeding schemes, Early Childhood Development Schemes and Garden projects.
Prayer was a central part of our pilgrimage and each day began with Morning Prayer with Archdeacon Ambrose being our spiritual leader. Prayers were also held at the homes of Archbishop Tutu and Mandela on Vilakazi Street, Soweto and at several of our linked parishes. Our pilgrimage began with Mass at St. Dunstan’s Cathedral in Benoni and ended on 22nd September with Mass at 7.15am at the Cathedral in Cape Town.
Here are a couple of photos; the picture above shows Carolyne, Veronica and Chris lending a hand in the kitchen at St Dunstan’s Cathedral, Benoni. The picture below also includes Julio and the priests, Father Hubby and Father Doug at our Link Parish of All Souls, Northmead.
